Same But Different

25 Sep

I didn’t know Level 1180 of Candy Crush is different on the iPad and in Facebook on the laptop! When I arrived at this level on my iPad, I thought, “Darn! Another tough level!”

The next day I didn’t use my iPad. Instead I went straight to the laptop and was presented with a different board setup and challenge.

“Hey, it’s not like this on the iPad!”

At first I thought I was at a wrong level but it couldn’t be, I just completed 1179 the night before and am pretty sure I am at 1180.

With the much easier challenge, I moved on in just one attempt. Checking the same level again on the iPad, sure enough, both devices have different board setups for the same level. So if you want to take easy route, play in Facebook instead of your iPad.

Not in Synch

7 Aug

I stopped playing Candy Crush Soda for a few days because there has been no updates. But last night, I could not resist and peeked into the game in Facebook on the laptop. What do you know? I moved. Yay… so I played on and managed to progress to Level 452.

However, on the iPad, despite achieving a star for Level 451, the icon is grey and while my avatar is sitting at Level 452, its icon is also grey. Something is not right. Obviously grey means I can’t play on the iPad. Hrmph.

It looks like the game is not in synch for different devices when clearly I have progressed in one device (laptop) but it’s not showing in the other (iPad).

King.com had better fix this.

As for Candy Crush, Bubblegum Hut finally opened for the iPad and I leapfrogged to the end of the chapter. And just as I predicted, I cannot play because I have actually gone on to the next chapter. Sigh…

On the iPad, 451 & 452 are grey

in Facebook, 451 & 452 are colored!

Not Fun Anymore

3 Aug

It certainly is not fun anymore when I find myself still stuck at Level 776 of Farm Heroes and caught in a time freeze at Level 1085 of Cloudberry Creek in Candy Crush on my iPad. I have actually gone passed the next chapter, Bubblegum Hut and started the subsequent chapter Pastry Palace (Level 1101) in Facebook on the laptop.

I suspect even with an update, usually one chapter at a time, I may not be able to play on my iPad because I am two chapters ahead of Cloudberry! Too fast for my own good.

To add to the aggravation, I can’t go forth beyond Level 450 for Candy Crush Soda on both my iPad and laptop.

Hrmph. Better to go back to reading Genghis Khan.

Oh No! Stuck Again

28 Jul

For the first time, my progress for my two games, Candy Crush and Candy Crush Soda, have been halted on the iPad. I have reached the end of both games and no further chapters have appeared yet.

So I play Candy Crush on the laptop in Facebook (at Level 1082 now). As for Soda in Facebook on the laptop, the game appears to stop at Level 435 but I discovered otherwise. The new chapter automatically opened up the minute I completed the level. Phew.

Nonetheless, what do I do if faced with such a moment?

I play Hexa Blast Monster Busters! Only because I can’t get pass Level 776 for my Farm Heroes and I’ve lost the will to battle being a zookeeper if I don’t fancy rescuing Honey Bears or gobbling up candies.

We Wait Again

14 Jul

My book, Genghis Khan, is pretty intense to read. I am constantly seeing vast lands of Mongolia as my imagination goes into overdrive. So I jump back to my games to reset or clear my thoughts.

Luckily, the latest chapter of Candy Crush on the iPad, Luscious Lagoon, was pretty easy. Made short work of it within a week and now I have to wait for Mellow Marshmallow to appear for the iPad. I must confess, I played it in Facebook on the laptop and now sitting at Level 1043.

However, my other two games are not so friendly. Stuck at Level 415 of Candy Crush Soda and Level 770 of Farm Heroes for sometime now. Sigh.

Did You Know?

11 Jun

For the first time I noticed an inconsistency in Candy Crush Soda! It is Level 375 and the challenge requirement is different on the iPad compared to it in Facebook on the laptop. Can you believe it?

There are four scenarios to pass. On the iPad, you have to save 40 bears. And you need to save 6, 12, 30 and 40 in this order to pass the scenarios to complete this level. On Tuesday night, for the first time, I realized that the same game at the same level, on the laptop in Facebook, only 36 bears are needed to be saved! Not 40 but 36.

And the sequence is 4, 10, 28 and finally 36. Hrmph… No wonder I have been stuck here for so long because I play on the iPad all the time!

King.com… You need to fix this!

So the minute I came home from office on Wednesday evening, I went straight to my laptop and attempted Level 375. And guess what? I made it pass Level 375! Finally. Yay.

Something’s Wrong

1 Jun

There’s something wrong with the latest Candy Crush update for the iPad Mini. It is not stable on the device (but okay in Facebook on the laptop). Over the weekend whenever I launch the app on my device, the game appears right at the beginning at Candy Town, Level 1! This has never occurred before.

It is mildly annoying because I have to scroll to get to where I am. And at Level 942, that’s a lot of scrolling to do. What’s even more annoying is when I click on lives sent by friends to use, after my five rounds, it goes back to Candy Town and I have to scroll all over again! Aargh.

King.com had better fix this glitch soon. But luckily, I have completed the episode, Minty Meadow, so I don’t have to deal with this until the next update. I shall play Cookie Crossing on the laptop. Am now at Level 951.

Customer Service at Its Best

6 Jan

After I posted my Blundstone boots issue on their Facebook page in December, guess what? There was a response. They replied to my post by providing an email and request that I email to their Customer Service and a rep will be contacting me to assist with my inquiry directly.

With this positive lead, yesterday I emailed to their Customer Service to highlight my plight. Honestly, all I wanted to know is how or where I can get original soles to replace the damaged ones to salvage the boots because throwing away (the boots) was not an option.

But they provided more than a solution! They replied to my email within a few hours, explained a little bit on Hydrolysis (which was what happened to my boots) and asked me for my shoe size, confirming again the shoe style (model) and requested for a mailing address so that they can send me a spanking new pair of replacement boots! No questions asked, no investigation, no query. Super wowzer! How about that? I was ecstatic!!!

This is definitely customer service at its best for I never expected such an outcome. Hats off to you, Blundstone!!!

I received notification this morning that the parcel is being despatched today and it should arrive in two to three days’ time. I await for the arrival of my new Blundstone Style 550 eagerly. Be still my beating heart!

A Confession

11 Dec

I must confess I actually brought the MacBook Air along to Bangkok. Not so much for work but to play my games, played in Facebook and requires the Flash Player and the iPad does not have this capability.

So every night, back in our Junior suite after our outing, I would log on, first to collect the beans in Farm Heroes then to spin the Jackpot in Facebook. After this, I would attempt the other two, Candy Crush and Candy Crush Soda, to try my luck to move on. It was a good thing because these games on the laptop are easier and in Candy Crush, I managed to move on to the next chapter, Marmalade Meadow. I am now at level 750.

They Changed It!

1 Dec

Level 735 of Candy Crush has been so hard because it requires one to collect 250,000 points! How? It has been very difficult and demoralizing, so I stopped for several days. Last Friday after a golf game, and a tiring one with so much laughter and food after the game, I came home and without a thought, launched Candy Crush automatically. And you know what? They changed the requirement! So I was pleasantly surprised to find myself collecting slightly over 100,000 points and made it passed the level in one attempt. Whee….. However, a pinch on myself and a quick check to verify that I was not mistaken, showed conflicting requirements. From an initial 250,000 points for both the laptop and iPad, the app in Facebook on the laptop needs only 100,000 while the iPad has gone up to 500,000! What is going on? Thank goodness I played it on the laptop.
