A Confession

11 Dec

I must confess I actually brought the MacBook Air along to Bangkok. Not so much for work but to play my games, played in Facebook and requires the Flash Player and the iPad does not have this capability.

So every night, back in our Junior suite after our outing, I would log on, first to collect the beans in Farm Heroes then to spin the Jackpot in Facebook. After this, I would attempt the other two, Candy Crush and Candy Crush Soda, to try my luck to move on. It was a good thing because these games on the laptop are easier and in Candy Crush, I managed to move on to the next chapter, Marmalade Meadow. I am now at level 750.

The Bags are Packed! Part 2

5 Dec

I don’t know what happened but my Zookeeper Battle app is not functioning at all on the iPad! Cannot launch at all since last night. But the game (and the other games) would have to take a backseat for now. We are to leave the house at 9.00am sharp to avoid the morning highway jam. You never know what’s ahead (in traffic) when you have a flight to catch!

Hubby and I decided to fly Malaysia Airlines (MH) again, for practicality as far as luggages are concerned. If we opt for the budget AirAsia, every single add on comes at a cost in comparison to the full service MH where all things are included. Sometimes the difference can be minimal or not much, it is better then to go with a full fledge airline to avoid the hassle. Traveling with children is always best with the full service choice.

Where are we going? Aha! Stay tuned…

It Ain’t Happening

2 Dec

Joy was shortlived after going pass Level 735 of Candy Crush. I am now stuck at Level 737. Between this and Level 584 of Farm Heroes, I cannot decide which one is causing me more grief. I cannot pass the two challenges. Boo hoo…

But the weekend proved to be a good one as far as activities are concerned. The dreadful Level 584 was finally overcomed, thanks to all the farm equipments in hand to assist. I even progressed well for Candy Crush Soda.

Like I said, joy always is shortlived. Between Level 737 of Candy Crush and now, Level 586 of Farm Heroes, I cannot decide which one, again, is causing me grief.

Maybe it’s time to go back to reading or even go away for a holiday! Hmm…

They Changed It!

1 Dec

Level 735 of Candy Crush has been so hard because it requires one to collect 250,000 points! How? It has been very difficult and demoralizing, so I stopped for several days. Last Friday after a golf game, and a tiring one with so much laughter and food after the game, I came home and without a thought, launched Candy Crush automatically. And you know what? They changed the requirement! So I was pleasantly surprised to find myself collecting slightly over 100,000 points and made it passed the level in one attempt. Whee….. However, a pinch on myself and a quick check to verify that I was not mistaken, showed conflicting requirements. From an initial 250,000 points for both the laptop and iPad, the app in Facebook on the laptop needs only 100,000 while the iPad has gone up to 500,000! What is going on? Thank goodness I played it on the laptop.

So Annoying!

28 Nov

It was a Saturday and the ritual is the same if I am not playing golf. I wake up, I get my coffee and my crackers, I sit at the sofa and I crush some candies.

It was Level 733 that I was stuck at. Somehow, I managed to pass the level and you know what? The darn laptop froze! Aaaargghhhh… Which means this tough level that I managed to pass was not captured and I am still stuck at Level 733.

So annoying.

Eh? When was the Update?

27 Nov

Over the weekend, it was a surprise when I decided to launch Candy Crush on the iPad to find myself transported from Boneyard Bonanza to Marshmallow Mountains. When was the update that resulted in this chapter appearing on the iPad? I don’t recall.

I was at the end of Boneyard the last time I crushed some candies on the iPad and during the weekend, I was on the laptop most of the time to attempt Level 733. And when the laptop froze, I still did not go on the iPad until much later.

A good surprise nonetheless. I am now at Level 735. And yesterday, Candy Crush officially released the actual update, announcing the new levels of 724 to 740.

The ME is Still Me and Not You!

25 Nov

Setting up the phone was not as easy as we thought. Because it was my phone, my name, number and ID was everywhere. It took a while to figure out the ID, Phone, Message and FaceTime settings.

“Why is the ME still me and not you when the phone is in your name already and not mine?” I asked.

M2 was blank and M1 was equally confused.

It sounds convoluted. When test iMessages which was sent to M2 ended up coming back to me on my iPhone5S and my iPad Mini, something was not quite right! I think it was due to the fact that the iTunes and App Store account was linked to my email (which we left it as is) that everything got messed up.

Finally, I figured it out. It was under Mail, Contacts and Calendars that we had to identify ‘My Info’ on top of Phone, Messages and FaceTime settings. Once this was fixed, the ME on the iPhone4 is no longer me but M2.

Phew. It was way past midnight when this was resolved.

So Silly of Me, Part 2

18 Nov

Ever since I went past Level 525 in Farm Heroes on the iPad, the app quits every time it’s launched. Hrmph! So annoying. I have to resort to playing on my old iPhone 4, yes, the old faithful, on top of my iPhone5S. I am now at Level 566.

To be frank, I noticed this (the quitting) has become more frequent after several update releases and the introduction of iOS8. I am still holding out on the update of the OS for my iPad.

How do I deal with the situation? I’d do a complete shut down of the iPad, count to ten or more and turn it on again, then the app is fine. I just have to remember to do this more often whenever I hit this snag. So silly of me… otherwise I have to carry two phones again and bring the laptop (especially for Candy Crush) to the office to carry on with my games.

Another Busy Weekend

17 Nov

Between attending a favorite cousin’s wedding and a golf game over the weekend, I still managed to find time to crush some candies! Boneyard Bonanza has been conquered. I guess it’s another round of waiting for tickets to come my way to move on to the next episode (in Facebook on laptop because Boneyard is the last chapter appearing on the iPad until an update comes along).

A quick check on Candy Crush Wiki (http://candy-crush-saga.wikia.com/wiki/Candy_Crush_Saga_Wiki) shows the new chapter being Marshmallow Mountains. Mmm… I hope my fellow candy crushers will send tickets soon. Tonight when I go home and use the laptop, I will find out.

It’s Different!

14 Nov

I seem to have an on-going love-hate relationship with Candy Crush. I stopped playing lately because Level 717 has been just so hard to pass. I figured I should focus on the BMW Golf Cup and not let the candy frustration distract me.

But when the tournament was over (I managed to win the Longest Drive novelty prize, a Garmin Approach S2 watch, with a 213 meter tee off), I came home elated and went back to crushing candies. That was when I discovered the difference in the challenge!

On the iPad, one has to get 4 color bombs to clear the level. Definitely very hard to achieve. However, the same level in Facebook on the laptop requires one to get 4 color bombs as well as 5 striped jellies! That’s difference number one. Difference number two, the board starts off with 3 bombs for you already. What a headstart! All you need to do then is to get one more bomb and make those striped candies, which aren’t that difficult to make. Definitely easier than before, it took me only one attempt to pass the level. Phew.

As for my new Garmin watch, I will definitely be using it for my next golf outing.
