One Tough Cookie

16 Sep

Level 677 of Candy Crush is one tough cookie. I have been stuck here for sometime and has somehow lost the energy for the game. A quick check on Candy Crush Wiki listed it as THE one and it is certainly living up to its name. The appeal and determination has waned tremendously as I no longer reach for the laptop the moment I wake up to crush some candies first thing in the morning.

On top of this, I have also lost my mojo for Farm Heroes and even Zookeeper Battle, can you believe it? Could it be I have been busy with design work at the office that these distractions have taken a back seat? I suspect so…

Hopefully, projects in the office can be completed soon so that I can regain my focus to pass Level 462 of Farm Heroes, beat Level 677 of Candy Crush and get back into the top ranking in Zookeeper Battle.

Time Flies

1 Sep

This trip, the two wake up calls are not too bad – 6.00am because firstly, RPGC is near the hotel and secondly, the tee off time at Bukit Besi is not that early unlike past trips, the wake up time was an un-Godly hours of 5.00am or earlier to allow long journeys.

I have had fun with the group. Time sure flies when one is enjoying one’s self. I detached myself from my virtual games (Candy Crush and Farm Heroes), my read (Jennifer Probst) and focused on friends and my golf. I even detach myself from my girls but with faith that they will do what they are required to do: study.

Anyway, today is our last day and by sun down, we will be home and all will be back to normal.

Another Day on the Road

31 Aug

It was a long day yesterday. Anticipating a long journey, we had to wake up at 4.30am to ready ourselves and at be at the Club by 5.30am. Everyone was prompt. By 5.50am, the 44-seater was on its way. Traffic was smooth and within an hour, we stopped for breakfast.

I thought it was a wee bit early to have wantan noodles but ate some anyway. The rest of the journey was clear. No heavy line of crawl and no masses leaving the city in exodus, our timing estimates to overcome traffic had us arriving at Royal Pahang Golf Club two hours early! But we could not tee off early because there was a shortage of buggies.

We decided to take things easy and not rush; going off only whenever a buggy comes in. In the end, I think everyone enjoyed their golf outing and had a leisurely paced game. Then off to dinner at the restaurant which was a madcap mess. They mistook us for another bus-load group and gave us their reserved tables and almost served us their food! Well, it wasn’t our fault when they asked if we came with the bus? Yes, we did but how would we know they had another group with the same exact details? Bus, booked tables… Oh well. We survived the madness and ordered our fare and had a good spread.

After checking in, everyone turned in to recover and ready for today; it will be a long journey to Bukit Besi Golf Club for the game. Today is also our country’s independence day, so I take this opportunity to wish my country, “Happy Merdeka Malaysia!”

Taking a Break

22 Aug

I decided to take a break today from all my iPad games, reads, kids, work and just go play golf and hang out with my golf buddies. It’s been a busy and stressful week, I think I kinda deserve the break.

The Wait is Over

8 Aug

I had a busy day in the office yesterday and got home later than usual. Home routine automatically kicked in before I finally settled down to my devices to catch up with my games, which I did not play at all the whole day.

It’s funny how I always complain about being stuck at my games, only to find myself moving on. I was just ranting about Level 416 in Farm Heroes when the unexpected occurred: I passed it and currently, at Level 419. But this latest August update is very unstable (again) for the iPad Mini. Keeps crashing and wasting lives. King.com had better fix this…

And as I sulked over Candy Crush over the past many days, last night, I discovered the new chapter has opened! Wheeee….

The wait is finally over and I am now at Level 637.

It’s Been Good

29 Jul

Hubby and I are not working the last two days because of the public holidays. We have had a long four day weekend and the girls have a week off from school this week. Unlike in previous years where we’d take the opportunity to go away, this time, we decided not to go anywhere and just enjoy the city. So far, we’ve been having fun, doing simple things together – going to the movies, eating different kinds of food, shopping, sleeping and just being carefree.

We also managed to do separate things – hubby and I golfed with friends, M1 visiting and hanging out with her friends and M2 catching up with her TV shows. Bottom line, everyone is happy.

Today, we take a short road trip to a fishing village just to eat some seafood. Awesome meal awaits us. Then we come home to sleep it off so that tonight, we dine with my sibling and his family.

It Was Swift

28 Jul

Right after I realized the new chapter, Taffy Tropics has opened in Facebook, I was busy crushing candies. I must say, this new chapter is fairly easy for I have breezed through the whole chapter before the weekend was over. And so quick at it, I left all my contenders behind and emerged as the champion Taffy Tamer.

Yes, it was swift and although I can see the next chapter, I can’t seem to ask for tickets or even jump past without any. Hmm… I guess I wait again.

He’s So Handsome!

21 Jul

Hubby bought a Bushnell binocular over the weekend. He felt it was a practical buy as we could use it to watch our favorite pro golfers, up close, whenever these players are in town for their LPGA or PGA tours.

But we played with it over the weekend, watching our pets up close instead. Happy and Herbie, the tortoises, were let loose in the garden and we used the binocular to observe them. So cool to view them so magnified and see their expressions.

Then I used it on Rooney, official pet number one. Up close, my Roo looked stunning; with his fierce look and folds, it really took my breath away!

He is indeed handsome. Amazing what a binocular can do to make one see their pets differently. It’s very different looking at him with the device compared to an up close face-to-face as details are zoomed in, becoming more pronounced and thus, the appreciation for his dogginess heightened.

I guess I will put it to good use on the pets for now.

OMG! It’s So Small

15 Jul

It’s been awhile since I looked at my old iPhone4. After all, I have my not-so-new-anymore iPhone5S to keep me connected. Two weeks ago, M1 asked if I could download an app on the iPhone4 for her to play. Rummaging for the phone from my drawer (it still has not been claimed), I found it and turned it on.

Oh My God. I was aghast at how small the screen was! It’s so tiny, almost bordering on cute. And I found it unfathomable how I had managed with it then, having gotten used to my slightly bigger screen iPhone5S. Amazing what an extra half inch can do for a person.

When I told hubby how I felt, he thought I had clearly forgotten my stance on my devices. Didn’t I profess my love and loyalty to my iPhone4 before? Wasn’t I dead set not to change? Well… people can change.

Should I Bother?

14 Jul

Throughout this year’s FIFA World Cup, never had I once woke up or stayed up to watch any matches. That shows you how big a football fan I am. But I find myself somewhat interested in the Finals where Germany plays Argentina.

For the record, I have woken up at 4.45am, 5.15am and 5.30am to get ready for a golf game or even catch a flight but for football? Should I even bother?

So far, I must admit the only thing that I caught during these several weeks of football was just the highlights of the 7 goals Germany inflicted upon Brazil. That’s it. That’s all I watched!

Hubby talked about wanting to wake up, even M1, to catch the match. Our time zone in relation to Brazil is just too horrendous; it will render me a zombie. I think if I were to wake up that early, I’d rather go walk nine holes of golf, come back and just read about the raves and rants on social media or the headlines for the final results.
