I Almost Gave Up

23 Jul

I must admit I almost gave up Candy Crush Soda over the weekend. Level 415 was just so darn difficult! Although I progressed for Candy Crush, having to play it the last few days on just the laptop (again) and even progressing for my Farm Heroes, my frustration at Candy Crush Soda left me toying with the idea of giving up.

Thankfully, an opportunity presented itself but I had to use my precious gold bars for five extra moves before succeeding. Phew. I would be terribly upset if I didn’t make it and would have given up then and there.

As for Candy Crush, it was a pleasant reward to be crowned champion for the Mellow Marshmallow chapter. I have moved on to Siberian Sorbet and after waiting for two days, the game has automatically updated for the iPad. So back at it on the iPad and I now sit at Level 1069.

We Wait Again

14 Jul

My book, Genghis Khan, is pretty intense to read. I am constantly seeing vast lands of Mongolia as my imagination goes into overdrive. So I jump back to my games to reset or clear my thoughts.

Luckily, the latest chapter of Candy Crush on the iPad, Luscious Lagoon, was pretty easy. Made short work of it within a week and now I have to wait for Mellow Marshmallow to appear for the iPad. I must confess, I played it in Facebook on the laptop and now sitting at Level 1043.

However, my other two games are not so friendly. Stuck at Level 415 of Candy Crush Soda and Level 770 of Farm Heroes for sometime now. Sigh.

Surely I Can

8 Jun

My last entry on my three games had me stuck but perseverance and determination saw me finally made it pass Level 951 for Candy Crush and Level 748 for Farm Heroes. But Level 375 of Candy Crush Soda has been problematic. Why?

Surely I can overcome. After all, many a time when I hit a snag in any of the three, it takes strategy and patience. But this time… Ugh. Patience has turned to annoyance.

It’s a Pattern

29 May

Whenever an app has an update, the game becomes easier to overcome. Like when I was stuck at Level 914 of Candy Crush not too long ago, it took an an app update to make level easier and soon, I was zipping through the levels.

This morning Candy Crush Soda had an update and what do you know? I managed to pass Level 365, likewise for Candy Crush. There was an update yesterday and when I played Level 939, where I have been stuck, I managed and have moved on.

Now if only the same can happen for my Farm Heroes. Have been stuck at Level 748 for sometime now.

Addiction or Distraction?

14 May

Frustrated that I could not progress for my usual virtual games, I needed a distraction and decided to try the game, 2048. The girls and hubby play it all the time but I abstained fearing addiction.

My goodness! It is quite addictive. There are several versions available to download but I find the five tile version easiest to lull away time. Every now and then, I would pop over to this whenever I find myself stuck at my usual games.

Stalled

7 May

Going away was good and bad. Good because of the company, golf and food. Bad because wifi connection was quite a hassle, therefore communicating with both M1 and M2 was sparse, what more playing my virtual games online. We had to log in daily and each time only one device was allowed. Phone or iPad? Hassle indeed.

The week before the trip to Tawau, I made much progress for my virtual games but was stalled at Level 908 for Candy Crush and at Level 737 for Farm Heroes. And for Candy Crush Soda, issues cropped up while in Tawau.

I made it to Level 345 on the iPad but not on my iPhone. As wifi was such a hassle, I couldn’t move on and my devices were not in sync. When I finally managed to solve this, taking turns to log in my devices, I was appalled to find that the app was not updated! Either way, I was stuck and it was most frustrating.

Now that I am back, I am at my games with a vengeance. Candy Crush is now at Level 914, Candy Crush Soda at Level 351 but Farm Heroes is still at Level 737. Bummer.

Can’t Live Without Them

24 Apr

Although the last five days in Thailand we had sporadic wifi connectivity, my virtual games went on as they can be played without connection. It’s amazing that I even have the strength to hold up my iPad and poke at it to move candies and farm animals after a long hot day out on the golf course, followed by a bout of drinking during dinner and waking up at 5.30am the next morning only to repeat this routine for four days.

And there has been progress despite the minimal time with the iPad. Candy Crush finally moved and now at Level 894, Farm Heroes at Level 735 and Candy Crush Soda at Level 336. Looks like it will be full swing at them this weekend!

Progress!

13 Apr

There has been a sense of acceptance and calmness in me knowing that M1 has settled down on campus very well because we WhatsApp and Skype often. So now I focus on M2, spending a lot of time with her and constantly giving her the encouragement to do well in school so that she can be on the right path like her sister.

I have gone back to playing golf and my routine with my virtual games has progressed well too. A fellow candy crusher informed me that Level 875 was a tough one to cross but luck was on my side. I did short-work of it and currently, at Level 879 in Coco Crossroads. Another tough one to cross I must admit.

As for Candy Crush Soda, I have moved to Level 325 but looks like I will be stuck here for a bit; not an easy level to overcome. And for Farm Heroes, it was very trying to pass the two difficult levels of 726 and 728. Sitting at Level 730 now. So yeah, much progress.

Giving Up?

2 Apr

Level 867 of Candy Crush has frustrated me to no end that I am contemplating, yet again, to give up on the game. I just cannot figure it out! But luckily the other two games, Candy Crush Soda and Farm Heroes has provided some solace.

Also I found another comfort – Codewords, a game that I hardly write about. I was at the bookstore not to long ago and found the magazine version of the game. It’s an app that I already have on my phone but now with a printed version, making it definitely easier on the eyes, this is another good game to keep the mind busy.

A Breather

17 Mar

In between the eating and last minute things to do or buy for M1, I still have a breather now and then with my virtual games.

For Candy Crush, I have completed Gummy Galaxy, the last chapter available on the iPad and after being stuck at Level 861 of Truffle Terrace on the laptop, I finally crossed it yesterday morning.

As for Candy Crush Soda, I have progressed well to Level 261 and Farm Heroes at Level 713. Even my  Zookeeper Battle, I have battled more than 7,000 battles! These games are not a waste of time but are good distractions from having to worry too much for her impending departure.
