See What Did I Tell You?

True enough to my prediction, Level 578 is indeed easier with that one difference in location of the chocolate maker and less moves required to whack the brown blocks and jellies! Just three attempts in Facebook on the laptop, I finally crossed the dastardly level! Yay.

I have breeze passed the other levels easily and sitting at 588 now. Life goes on.

Should I Just Give Up?

Now, the same level on the iPad. Notice the difference in the same elements?

Candy Crush updated again for the iPad last week. This means I don’t have to rely on the laptop to aggravate myself. Yes, I am still stuck at Level 578. Should I even bother to continue or should I just give up? Hmm…

I decided to continue for the sake of continuing, mindlessly flicking on the iPad without success. Then last night, right before I went to bed, I tried on the laptop.

And you know what?! I discovered the layout of the board differs on the iPad and in Facebook on the laptop! How could they do this again! This is the second time I made this discrepancy discovery. The first being Level 410.

After several days off Candy Crush, focusing on Farm Heroes instead, last night I discovered that the chocolate maker have suddenly shifted and now is located at the bottom of the grid. On the iPad, however, the chocolate maker sits on top! Even the two side jellies are different! The iPad version needs two hits while the laptop version, just once. On top of these, the blocks on the iPad needs more moves to break them! No wonder I have not been able to pass.

Maybe there’s hope to overcome this level because it is now way easier. The fact that several of my fellow Candy Crushers (who caught up to Level 578 and were perpetually stuck like me) finally moved on has given me hope that I can do it!

I shouldn’t just give up yet but give it another try.

My 5000th Battle!

Wow… I am quite the zookeeper, having done 5000 battles in Zookeeper Battle! Thank goodness for this for keeping me occupied yet not frustrated. If you must know, I am still stuck at Level 578 in Candy Crush. I think all hope and appeal is lost with the candies.

As for Farm Heroes, I finally, finally managed to get pass Level 302 and have breezed on to Level 314. The new chapter (Level 310 onwards) of Farm Heroes is set in snowy country and the new obstacle is snowballs! Pretty cute. Not as annoying as spiders or Rancid, it’s manageable. However, if I ever feel frustrated, there’s always my comfort app: Zookeeper Battle!

Not Fun Being Stuck

2 Jun

I am still stuck at Level 578 in Candy Crush and it’s frustrating, annoying and irritating. So much so, I am crushing candies less and less. And as if this is not enough, I am also stuck at Level 302 for my Farm Heroes.

Why do these apps make life so difficult for enthusiasts like us? It’s not fun being stuck. Let us through, make it slightly easier, make us happy.

Obsessed Beyond Belief!

27 May

Last week, workload in the office was quite stressful. Add in the constant evening downpour that causes the going home drive (read massive traffic jam) to be even more unpleasant, I needed an outlet to destress.

So I downloaded Farm Heroes on my phone! Something I normally don’t do – having a game that I play on three devices. It came to a point where playing on the laptop (and occasionally on the desktop in the office) and the iPad were not enough, I needed quick turnaround for lives without having to wait for people to send me, thus this decision. The latest level, 280, has taken over me, making me obsessed beyond belief! The spiders are simply horrid.

Subliminally, this is also my reaction to Candy Crush. I have reached Level 578 but this has been the mother of all frustrations! An unbelievable and ridiculous challenge, comfort from my other games does not seem to help…

Am I turning into an obsessed monster?

Eeeks! Spiders!

26 May

Unlike Candy Crush where every chapter has a name (Biscuit Bungalow, Gummy Gardens and so on), Farm Heroes Saga do not have any whimsical names for its chapters. They just introduce new elements and although, it may not be evolving chocolates and tornadoes, it can be annoying in the form of nasty rabbits, time bombs, irritating raccoon and mean fruits.

And the latest being spiders! Eeeks. Be warned, spiders appear from Level 266 onwards.

Oh No! A Glitch!

See the up-down scroll arrow, on the left?

up-down arrow appears again at a different spot!

I have come to the end of Biscuit Bungalow. Level 575 was not that difficult. Thinking that I could move on, on the laptop to the next chapter, I thought I would have to ask for tickets but alas, I could not do so!

There seems to be a glitch on the laptop as I cannot click on the ticket platform. Every spot I try to place the mouse at, an up-down scroll arrow appears instead! Oh no!

Luckily the next day, the glitch was fixed on the laptop and with tickets arriving, I have progressed on to Gummy Gardens. Yay.

Suckered In

15 May

I was stuck at Level 566 in Candy Crush for so long that I contemplated giving up. Go back to my retired status from the game. However, the app updated last Thursday for the iPad and I got suckered in yet again.

But amazingly, last weekend proved to be fruitful. The horrible Level 566 was overcomed and I have breezed along on the iPad. I am now at Level 575, the end of the Biscuit Bungalow chapter. Looks like if I want to carry on, it’s back to the laptop as the game has another chapter in Facebook. And I might just do that because Farm Heroes has hit a snag at Level 245. Cuteness is lost with time bombs here! And these time bombs are meaner than those in Candy Crush. I am not amused.

Hitting the Jackpot

9 May

ImageImage

I confess. Besides Candy Crush, Zookeeper Battle and Farm Heroes, I play the Jackpot in Facebook. A year ago, I decided to chase the game’s leaders and try to break into the top 50 in the world. Why? Just to test myself and see if I could do it. I figured if other Facebook users can have their names on the list, why not me? So diligently, I would spin the jackpot every single day without fail. Days when I travel, I’d enlist the girls to help just spin the wheel for me. It’s almost a crazy obsession but the key was to be constant on a daily basis.

So a year ago, I was trailing the 50th player listed by 4 million. Yes, I kept a tracker! A gargantuan task but I have been chipping into the gap consistently, slowly but surely. And you know what? Exactly a year later, two days ago, I broke into the Top 50! Yeehaw….

It feels great when you have achieved something. Persistence does pay.

One Step Ahead

I have been crushing candies on the sly. Heheheh… In between battling zoo animals and getting frustrated by the horrid raccoon and annoying rabbit in Farm Heroes, Candy Crush has provided some comfort.

Three weeks ago, I completed the Jelly Wagon chapter in Facebook on the laptop and had to wait for tickets. Thankfully, one week later, the game updated for the iPad. But I am one step ahead of it—like the previous update—I had completed the chapter before the update came around for the iPad.

So what basically happens on the iPad is just my avatar leapfrogging to the end of the chapter without any candies being crushed. I could back-track to earn more stars or just continue on the laptop.
