Monday is not a typical day for an entry or a scheduled post, but I need to share. My Blundstones and I, plus hubby of course, are ready for another adventure tomorrow! It has been a short and quick planning for this. Anyway, our luggage is all set for our upcoming trip. Whee!
So where are we headed? Hah! Stay tuned to find out. We will be heading to KLIA this evening for our flight with Malaysia Airlines. Here’s wishing us happy travels and a safe journey ahead!
Writing can be enjoyable, but maintaining a weekly blog can be a monumental challenge. Keeping the interest of an audience is not easy. I feel fortunate that I have been writing and improving my blog for many years now, and I still have an audience. It’s a very fulfilling feeling.
What started in an amateurish manner has blossomed over the years. Recently, I renewed my blog site and realized that it has been 12 years since I started it! Twelve years is a long time. Arriving at this milestone is an achievement, and I’m proud of myself.
A big shout-out to everyone who has been supporting my blog. Happy reading to all my, and happy anniversary milestone to me!
I thought I was at the tail end of my illness, but nope, it has persisted. I have been feeling so sapped, it’s very tiring, physically and mentally. There has been no will to write or do anything, hence a delayed post this week. This darn virus is so persistent!
But today–after my third visit to the doctor–there’s a breakthrough! I’m feeling slightly better, and what better way to move forward than to begin DIY project number 33! Yay.
It has been a while since I had an entry on Friday. There used to be so much to share, but life has become predictable and unexciting lately, leaving me with little to write about. However, this is changing because it is time to travel again!
My all-girls trip is finally happening. My high school friends and I were supposed to travel together in November, but with unforeseen circumstances and issues some of us had, we all agreed to postpone our trip to China until this year. The girls are the same friends I traveled with to Bali in 2022.
The excitement has been building this week, and I am packed and ready to go! We are meeting up at KLIA tonight for our wee-hour flight on Saturday to kick off the busy nine-day itinerary. I may be unable to update daily, but I’ll have plenty of pictures and stories to write about afterward.
Last Thursday was a public holiday, and I got derailed. We opted not to play golf and went out instead. It felt like the weekend, so much so that Friday felt weird. I was thrown off balance and was not in the mood to write. My mind was blank because of the weekday public holiday. I was too much in a lull to think about writing.
Then the weekend came, and we played a round of golf on Sunday. It was not a good round. The elbow hurt. Boo hoo hoo. What am I going to do? The mind has slackened, the pain has not subsided, and the body is protesting. Sniffles.
I am most impressed with myself with the longevity of this. When I started this in 2013, I wanted to write better by keeping a journal, not just for me but also to share my adventures. Never had I envisioned that it would go on for so long.
I want to thank my readers who have joined me on my adventures and experiences. Without you and the support, it would never have gone on. Happy anniversary to me, happy reading, and thank you from the bottom of my heart!
My Fitness rings on my AppleWatch Series 5 have been off the charts with so much walking we have done. Perhaps it’s a good thing to burn all those calories consumed. My legs hurt to high heaven, but the food discovery continued. After the rest from the Chatuchak outing, we took a cab to Jodd Fairs Night Market.
Colorful food choices at the Jodd Fairs Night Market. Highly recommended to visit.Dinner was on the table liner. Spicy squid, pineapple fried rice, and ribs. The pork-neck bone soup was killer spicy with the mountain of green chili that I removed!
We seem to have discovered more places to eat during this trip. Even on our past golfing trips, food was not a priority. Jodd Fairs felt like a more organized Chatuchak. The food vendors were clustered, with all types of mouth-watering food, and the sights and smells were so tempting! It’s nice to find new things to try.
Some exotic edibles – insects, crocodile meat, snails, prawns, and squid.
The walkways between the stalls were more spacious than in Chatuchak, and we could browse slowly without blocking human traffic. However, nothing caught our eyes, for we had bought what we wanted already from Chatuchak. It was another tired-to-the-bone night when we returned to the hotel. As a result of such a schedule, I did not have the energy to write anything to upload and share.
I knocked out a little past midnight. The next day, it’s another full itinerary to visit the temples.
Would you believe that we have three more weeks left for 2023?! To say how fast time flies is correct and sometimes not.
Time flies when one’s having fun. However, time does not fly when one is at home and bored to tears, with nothing to do except count the ants on the counter and listen to Spotify on a loop.
I am not reflecting on my eventful year yet, and I’m sure the right moment to pen down my thoughts will hit as the year draws to a close. Until then, I better make the most of what’s left of 2023. Then, I will have much to say and reflect on later.
Holidays are always appreciated! Yesterday was a replacement holiday as Sunday was Deepavali or Diwali, the Festival of Lights. However, the public holiday being on a Sunday threw a curve ball into keeping track of time for me. Happily, I thought yesterday was Sunday.
As such, I was busy with house chores and overlooked writing, hence no post. Oh well, I think this new schedule is a nice change. Two entries per week, with a two-day and three-day break in between, I have more time to do the things I enjoy.
Of course, when I travel, the entries will be more. I appreciate and thank all my readers for staying with me until today.
I had a notification from WordPress this morning – congratulating me on the ninth anniversary of my blog site! Wow. For nine years, I have had this going. Wow again. I am speechless that I have kept it going for so long.
But this would not have happened if it wasn’t for all you readers supporting me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Keep reading, and of course, I will keep writing.
