A Sweet Tooth

24 May

I must confess I do have a sweet tooth. Yes, I cannot resist chocolate every now and then or even dessert after meals. And occasional I’d like to have a lollipop to have a sugar rush.

The lolly of choice is of course Chupa Chups.

Recently, I went to the grocery store, not my regular store and discovered to my delight, Chupa Chups now comes in a can! A sparkling drink in various flavours. Wow, I never knew. Then again my regular store does not carry this.

But that day, I didn’t feel like having anything sweet so I gave it a miss. Maybe next time when I revisit that particular store, the range will still be there and I may pick one flavour up, just to try.

Which one should I try? Hmm…

Online Shopping

12 Sep

As you know, I am not an avid shopper. Put me in a mall for hours, I would be drained of energy and feeling super lethargic. I simply cannot stand the noisy crowd, the screaming kids and the lack of oxygen in an enclosed environment.

However, sometimes a trip to the mall is necessary but only to buy and do the necessary. No window-shopping excursions in other words and I avoid those mega-sales extravaganzas like a plague.

Recently, this dinosaur discovered the joys of online shopping! No crowds, no kids, no lack of oxygen and at the comfort of my space, it’s kinda nice. And thrilling to a certain extent when I am able to find something that I like and need.

It’s not amazon.com that I am talking about but a local portal, lazada.com.my. It’s truly mind boggling what one can find on there; a true definition of a one-stop for all your needs.

But I am selective. Most purchases are things at a great bargain and useful like a bean bag and golf club covers or even useless, like the fidget spinner which I still don’t get it until now.

My most recent purchase, a set of carving tools to complement my existing set, will definitely be a useful one to grow my Gigglesville township.

I look forward to the package arriving.

The Ride, Part 1

17 Apr

It was a typical weekend evening routine. We were headed to our favorite mall for dinner when I spotted the motorbike rider along the highway. I managed to snapped a picture of her.

The lady rider was actually sitting cross-legged on her scooter! How does one do that? Then again, isn’t it dangerous? It’s not a country-side road, it’s the highway with lots of vehicles. It may be the weekend with less traffic but still, it’s a busy highway. Goodness!!!

It was amazing that she could balance and ride along safely.

Look closely at the legs!

Feeling Lost

25 Apr

M2 went off for camp on Friday and both of us felt lost. We weren’t quite sure what to do! It has been routine so far with her weekly night tuition classes but last Friday, she had to give it a miss and go off for a school-organized 3 day, 2 night camp.

And what’s with camp for schools nowadays? When I was in school, there were no such things as camp, let alone overnight excursions. I don’t remember. Then again times have changed…

So there we were, the two of us, indecisive on what to do, what to eat and where to go for the weekend. We ended up wandering aimlessly in six different malls over two days, not because we wanted to, it was more to kill time and anyway, it was too hazy to be outdoors for golf.

Imagine this was only a three day absence and we were like this. I dread the day when M2 goes off to college.
