The Weather’s the Spoiler

4 Oct

Krabi is an hour behind home in the time zone. I woke up before the alarm went off at 7.00am and looked out to the pool; there is a slight pitter patter sound outside. Oh no, drizzling! How are we going for our adventure in this weather?

I hope by breakfast time and the car ride after, the weather will clear up for us to have a fun-filled and busy day. Last night after dinner, we decided to take in an elephant ride, visit Aonang and Krabi. Let’s hope today’s plan will materialize.

Away from the Crowd

3 Oct

The little splash in our private pool was soothing and fun despite the light rain. There was no crowd, no little bratty kids screaming or rude parents jostling for a good spot. The place was all ours.

After a hot shower, everyone had a good rest before we adjourned to the restaurant for dinner. Hubby was clever to order the menu ahead so when we got there at 7.30pm, dinner was served immediately, no waiting. Ahh… bliss.

We then planned ahead for the next two days, what to do and where to go. I can’t wait!

Welcome to Krabi!

3 Oct

After a half hour journey, we made it to the villa, our home for the next four days. Villa Thalanena is an amazing and cozy place with just 8 villas. Talk about privacy!

Our unit is a two bedroom that comes with a pool, a kitchenette and mini lounge. Forget the outdoor activities and sights of Krabi, I am staying put.

We decided to take a short walk to the restaurant for a quick bite then we are all going to jump into the inviting pool, regardless of the rain.

Still at the Airport

3 Oct

One hour later. We are still in queue to get pass immigrations! The earlier flight’s passengers are still in line. The flight after us had passengers coming in to crowd the already crowded situation. Aaarghhh….

I must say things are pretty darn slow. The authorities are shorthanded without anyone to take charge and bark orders to get things moving.

I kept telling myself, patience, we are in no hurry. We had lunch on board. The villa will not run away…

Cloudy, we made it pass immigrations and on our way. Finally. But the cloudiness was only for a brief period, the moment we stepped out from the terminal, the rain came down again!

Sigh… I think I will stay indoors and enjoy the luxury of Villa Thalanena.

Onward to Our Desination

3 Oct

Hubby and I decided to fly Malaysia Airlines to show our support and solidarity with the airline. With the recent two tragedies, we try in our little way to support the national carrier.

Departure was on time and soon, the 737 was descending into Krabi. Whee…

The minute the plane stopped on the tarmac, you can feel the excitement. However, once we got on the bus and into the terminal, the skies opened up and rain came pouring down.

Uh-oh. Not a good start to a sunny holiday. To make matters worse, it was chaotic inside the terminal. There was no proper queue and the passengers just kept piling in. Hmm… a good time to practice patience. After all, we are supposed to be on holiday and shouldn’t be rushing.

The villa is not going to run away.

The Pesky Mosquito

3 Oct

I had set my alarm for 7.00am last night but the pesky lone mosquito woke me up at 5.00am and again at 6.00am. By 6.30am, I was wide awake. Oh well, I might as well wake up.

Yes it’s only Friday but we decided to make the long three-day weekend into a four day escapade by skipping school and work! The bags were all packed last night, the girls are excited and we are ready.

We are at KLIA now, waiting to board. Yay.

Get Them Sunnies Out!

2 Oct

I finally gave in to buying sunnies for M2 recently. Amazingly we went on a shopping mission and even M1 bought new sunnies. On top of the cool shades, both girls now have new swimsuits. Why?

We are going to the beach! Yay.

I know I said not too long ago, no more trips until after M1’s big exam. But the coming three-day weekend is too tempting to resist. We reasoned the trip will be a good breather from all that studying (for the girls) and work stress (for the adults). Plus it will be a good family bonding time. After a good dose of sun, surf and sand, everyone will come back recharged and fresh.

So, get them sunnies out, we are going to the beach!

Why?

30 Sep

I may be avoiding frustration by not playing Candy Crush Level 677 but frustration is following me! Farm Heroes is currently providing it at Level 486. Aaaargghhhh… Why do this to me?

Our New Pets!

29 Sep

It is disheartening to note that the little aquarium can’t seem to house the latest batch of fishes. Remember Bob Clayton and the community post-Bob Clayton? All went to pet heaven.

Last week, M2 noticed the state of the aquarium and asked,”Daddy, you have new pets? I see some pet water and pet rocks.” Hardy-har-ha.

Maybe it is better to just let the aquarium be a table decor than what it’s supposed to be.

One Crazed Farmer

26 Sep

Level 677 of Candy Crush continues to torment me. So I vent my frustration in Farm Heroes. Thankfully, there’s progress in the farm until now. I am at Level 480.

Last night, I was like one crazed farmer using 4 devices at one go, swapping between the laptop, iPad and both phones. Did I succeed? I wish. I guess I will be farming throughout the day. Hey, it’s Friday and I can take it easy at work.
