I love my Blundstone boots, and this is my second pair. Like the first pair, this pair had a change of sole. Hydrolysis occurred on the soles, disintegrating them to smithereens as the boots were left unused for a long time.
Despite this change, the current pair of boots are still comfortable. I would wear them daily if I had the chance. However, the weather at home is not suitable for such footwear. So, I only wear my Blundstone when I am off for a holiday at a cold climate destination; hence the motto “Have boots will travel.”
Where are we off to this time? Tokyo, Japan! Whee. Tokyo reminds me of my college days, dinosaur years back when I had to layover at Narita International Airport for my flight for a few hours before continuing the journey. But technically, I cannot say I have visited Tokyo because I never left the airport to see the city. Back then, there were no Blundstones as well. No Blundstones, no travel. Hahaha.
I look forward to experiencing the city during this holiday. There will be a lot of walking, but I’m not worried because I have my comfortable Blundstone boots! We fly tomorrow morning. Happy travels to us!
If only I had known! I live in not specially humid Lot et Garonne SW France. IU asked a friend to buy in London two pair of such Blundstone boots about three years ago.? Recently I spotted bits of rubber in the house & car. I could not work it out but eventually on closer inspection saw to my shock the soles on one pair ONLY had begun to totally rot and disintegrate. I have complained to London Customer Services who replied quickly seeking images, close ups and a date stamp on sole.
The soles were in too bad a condition to read anything and I did not even see same on second good condition pair!
Very strange two pair bought together and one roots and the other not so far. Both are in the same environment and have similar light use. This chemical reaction condition referred to in concerning and its like buying a time bomb with a limited life span. Who in their right mind would buy such expensive boots under this condition and WHY don’t Blundstone test another better long life sole composition?
Wonder if London is more understanding than Australian Head Office and either reimburses me or sends me another pair. Certainly each pair sold should come with clear HEALTH WEAR WARNING !
Thank you for visiting my blog, and glad you learned something about your Blunnies.
Good luck with Customer Service London, hopefully they are as good as Australia. Keep me posted on this!
